I believe that inside every person, there is a garden. It is a fortress of life where daily routines trace the contours, words and melodies take root, and memories of light and atmosphere transform into colors. Some gardens have flowers swaying in the breeze; others are vast like open prairies. There may be gardens as dense and lush as a jungle, or gardens where it never stops raining. Perhaps some contain ponds or pools, sheer cliffs, or even a small beach with a boat. It is even possible that some gardens consist of nothing more than flat, empty ground.
People go about their lives carrying these secret hideouts within them. Garden meets garden. Pathways are formed, and bridges crumble. Like floating islands, we drift, neither too close nor too far apart. The map of one’s inner garden is never set in stone.
